National Volunteer Week 2022

Yesterday began the first day of National Volunteer week and we would like to extend our appreciation of all those that volunteer in our communities. There are so many ways in which people can volunteer and so many good reasons why they should. For example, it is a good way to learn new skills, gain real world experience, and make yourself more employable. This is especially important for younger generations looking to break into the work force during or directly after college. Aside from these, you can help make an impact in someone’s life and empower others while connecting with your community making powerful connections. Where you volunteer depends on what your interests are really. Some examples of where you can volunteer include: aiding at your local soup kitchen, summer camps, tutoring at schools, homeless shelters, nursing homes assisting the elderly or hospitals, and blood drives are just a few. The list is truly endless. If you’re interested in volunteering a good site to visit is Volunteer Match where they assist you in searching places that fits your interests near your current location. Just punch in the city or zip and your all set to begin your volunteering journey.
